Slurry Pump

In harsh conditions with sand, sludge, rocks and mud, ordinary slurry pumps tend to clog, wear and fail frequently. But WA heavy duty slurry pumps are highly resistant to wear and corrosion, which means that the service life of our slurry pumps is better than other manufacturers' pumps.

Types of slurry pumps

The design of the slurry pump is critical to ensure that the abrasive and often corrosive aspects of the slurry do not damage the impeller. In addition, slurries and sludges may contain large amounts of unforeseen solids, which will inevitably clog many types of pumps. Since most centrifugal pump impellers have very tight tolerances on the worm gear, the abrasive (and sometimes corrosive) nature of the slurry will quickly wear down the worm gear and destroy the tolerances. In turn, this causes the pump to lose suction. This can lead to extensive downtime of the slurry pump, as well as expensive maintenance and spare parts.

2.Pumping slurries poses several challenges and problems, but with proper engineering and equipment selection you can experience many years of worry-free operation. It's important to work with a qualified engineer when selecting a slurry pump because slurries can wreak havoc on a pump if not properly selected.
