Any type of impeller can be used in slurry applications, but closed slurry pump impellers are more common because they are high efficient and abrasion Resistance,. Open slurry pump impellers are usually used well for high concentration solids as they are less likely to clog. For example, the small fibers in paper stock which, in high densities, may have a tendency to clog the impeller. Pumping slurry can be difficult.

If you have experience pumping slurries, you know it's not an easy task. Slurries are heavy and difficult to pump. They cause excessive wear on pumps and their components and are known to clog suction and discharge lines if not moving fast enough. Most importantly, it’s a challenge to make slurry pumps last for a reasonable amount of time. But, there are a few things you can do to extend the life of your slurry pump and make pumping slurry less of a challenge.

Molded fiberglass grating is a fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) that combines fiberglass rovings with thermosetting resins to form a strong, one-piece molded panel. A 65% / 35% resin to glass weight ratio provides high corrosion resistance. Meniscus surfaces or applied grit surfaces provide slip resistance when compared to other flooring products. At present, the joint laboratory’s first R&D project – on spray paint – free carbon fiber composite materials – has been officially launched. The product will be used first in new energy vehicles, not only to reduce the weight of the body, but also to significantly reduce the application cost of composite materials and improve production efficiency.

HI-Grid FRP Grating and Various Implementations

Pultruded fiberglass grating is made using premium grade isophthalic polyester, vinyl ester or phenolic resin systems with a synthetic surfacing veil, making it corrosion resistant, lightweight, and durable. Pultruded fiberglass has a grit surface for safety, and a greater strength to weight ration than molded fiberglass grating. A 35% / 65% resin to glass ratio provides greater strength and less corrosion resistance than molded fiberglass. This product is better suited for longer life spans.
