How to Choose a Dredging Pump or Slurry Pump
These seals are designed to fit snugly around the shaft of the machine, preventing oil from leaking out while also keeping dirt, dust, and other contaminants from entering.
The range of uses of peroxydically cross-linked EPDM includes in hot water and steam seals. EPDM is also very resistant to ageing and ozone. Compared with the usual types of synthesis natural rubber it has good resistance to cold temperatures. EPDM is not resistant to aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil products. Resistance to chemicals, and also to oxidising agents, is very good. Temperature range from -50 °C to +140 °C depending on type.

A) Shaft runout
As shown in Figure 8, shaft runout is defined as being twice the eccentricity between the shaft center and center of shaft-center rotation trajectory.
When a seal is angularly misaligned – or cocked on the shaft – an irreversible process begins. Excessive pressure on one section of the seal, when not installed properly, can cause the spring to become dislodged or the seal to heat up and become brittle through excessive wear, both leading to a premature failure.
The performance of these seals depends to a large extent on a suitable unit load being maintained at the seal-shaft interface. These seals withstand a pressure of 15PSI and their working depends on parameters like shaft diameter, shaft speed, working temperature, service conditions, etc
